Welcome to my site! I am Jon Haimes and I am a bivocational or dual-career pastor. I serve the Bradford Chapel Baptist Church near Gore Springs, Mississippi. 

 

In addition to being the pastor at Bradford Chapel, I also serve as an Assistant Teacher at the Grenada Upper Elementary School in Grenada, Mississippi. There I have the opportunity to meet and work with some of the finest educators and students in the world!

 

I am originally from Houston, Mississippi. My parents are Jerry and Betty Haimes of the Anchor community. I have been married to Michelle Callahan Haimes since July 2, 1994. We have one son, Luke, who was born on June 4, 1999.

A "SEE YOU AT THE POLE RALLY" IS COMING TO A SCHOOL NEAR YOU.
If you a student, I hope that you take time to read this quick headline. Student-led prayer is not prohibited at your school. I encouraged you to attend the 2010 See You At the Pole event at your local school. Haven't heard of one at your school? Perhaps you are the very one which God is calling to take a stand and get one started. For more information, talk with your parents, pastor, youth minister, or you can email me and I'll see that you have the tools that you need lead this year's event.

Gone But Not Forgotten! Local Sunday School class plans trip to Mississippi legend!
I teach the 9-12 year old Sunday School class at my church, Bradford Chapel. I am so proud of my class and I do love them each so much! Many students in my class have never even heard of the late Jerry Clower, a comedian story teller from South Mississippi. I can't wait to post some pictures of our trip to the Jerry Clower Museum on October 2nd. Luke, my son, loves to listen to some of Jerry Clower's stories. I appreciate the fact that I never have to worry about what story Luke is listening to because they are family friendly. I can't wait!!
